This volume deals with the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, the French Rostand Lines and the Corsica Lines, between 1840 and 1850. This second work continues the examination of all the Navigation Companies of the Italian States and of their steam units that carried the correspondence of that period. On the charts, easy to consult, more than 21,500 dates are listed, accompanied by almost 600 explicative notes; more than 80 letters carried by steamships are illustrated and described; Decrees, Notifications and Treaties relevant to the postal and commercial maritime agreements between the Italian States described in this volume are reported. Particular attention is devoted to the revolution of 1848 in Sicily and of the postal services between Naples, Sicily and Malta in that period.
