The second volume examines North Atlantic route mail to and from the United States sent under postal conventions with Hamburg from 1857, Belgium from 1859, the Netherlands, North German Union and Switzerland from 1868, in the period before U.P.U. agreement of 1875.
The illustrated covers normally are from the period 1840-1875. There are detailed explanations of all the markings, the postal rates and accounting, and other postal history information. In addition to letter mail, the book examines printed matter, returned mail and registered mail.
