POSTAL HISTORY OF SICILY POSTAGE STAMPS
Thanks to the census of more than 7000 letters, the present work analyses the postal history of Sicilian postage stamps: rates, franking, destinations known, postmarks, retouches on cover, letters sent during the insurrectionary period and in the following "Garibaldi" period, last dates of use of the postage stamps for every post office.
Last part of the book is devoted to a detailed historical analysis of the period April-July 1860, with the effects that historical events had on postal communication in the island.
Hundreds of reproductions in colours, with most of the rarest letters franked with Sicilian postage stamps.
