As far as valuations are concerned, the traditional prudence of this catalogue has given the possibility to touch down many figures. On the contrary, increases are recorded both for the less available pieces and for particularly popular sectors such as advertising items, and for the more modern part. And the same "indication" of the market, reasonably tended to rise, is put into practice for the first time for a sector such as the colonial one, especially the shipping slips of the '900, often unavailable but remained for too long at a 30 year ago valutations.

VATICAN POSTAGE STAMPS

This work contains a classification of the watermark positions and of perforations for Vatican postage stamps.

The most used type of watermark was the one with "crossed keys"; the "winged wheel watermark first type" was used only in the series Pro prisoners 1945, Holy Year 1949 and Centenary of the Palatine guard 1950. In all other cases, and in particular starting from the 1970s, paper without watermark was used.

The numbering adopted is that of the Sassone catalogue.
