BOCCASILE
La Signorina Grandi Firme
and other worlds
Gino Boccasile, interpreter and mirror of an age, artistic genius and unquestioned master of visual communication, invented an icon of the XX century, "Signorina Grandi Firme", for Cesare Zavattini's journal: a modern woman who walked alone for the streets, open-minded, free and self conscious, far ahead the Italian old cliché of the woman as a "home-maker". In other words, he created a revolutionary woman.
Thanks to Boccasile, we can have a fundamental piece of Italian history of usage and custom and of the Italian society, following his wonderful creations, realized during the terrible years of the second world war.
